Mauritius: MRA launches its Chatbot “MyRA”

In its endeavour to provide better and quality services to taxpayers, the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) has launched its chatbot named MyRA. The launching took place during the MRA’s press conference held on the last day of August 2023.

This innovative tool comes to supplement the existing e-services channels being offered to taxpayers in facilitating them to meet their tax obligations. It is smart, intelligent, and uses cutting edge technology to respond to taxpayers’ queries.

The operation of MyRA also coincides with this year’s filing season which has just kick-started some days ago and MyRA, as a virtual tax assistant tool, has been crafted to provide seamless assistance to taxpayers filing their Income Tax return. It is expected that MyRA will bring efficiency gain to the MRA by reducing the waiting times of taxpayers calling the MRA for tax information.

The chatbot is being implemented in a phased manner, covering filing of income tax returns in the first instance and to be subsequently extended to other areas.
