Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) recently added the option to pay Police Record Fee via its Mobile Application, as well as upgraded its website to allow motorist to renew their Motor Vehicle Registration Certificate. These enhancements come as TAJ strategically continues to build out its online services, to provide its valued customers with alternate options to visiting a Tax Office.
In respect of the payment of Police Record fee, TAJ worked in partnership with the Jamaica Constabulary Force and eGovernment Jamaica Limited to make the service a reality. It allows customers to pay the application fee for a Police Record using the TAJ Mobile App, instead of having to visit a Tax Office to do so. Customers are then able to print their receipt and use the reference number to make an appointment with the police, who are able to validate the payment to TAJ electronically.
As it relates to the renewal of Motor Vehicle registration, TAJ collaborated with the Insurance Association of Jamaica and eGovernment Jamaica Limited to implement this game changing online option. It allows motorists to apply and pay for their motor vehicle registration online. Based on the validation built into the system, the vehicle must have valid insurance and certificate of fitness to proceed online. Persons or their named agent will be notified when the physical registration certificate and the sticker to be affixed to the car will be ready for collection, using a quick window at the specified select Tax Office.
TAJ continues to work with its public and private sector partners, to enhance its suite of eServices.
