Tax Administration Jamaica Celebrates 10th Anniversary as a Tax Authority with a Tax Week

In celebration of its 10th anniversary operating as a Semi-Autonomous Revenue Authority (SARA), Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) recently hosted a Tax Week, under the theme Celebrating 10 Years of Service Excellence. The week-long celebration saw TAJ team members participating in worship services at four churches across the island; Corporate Social Responsibility activities where staff engaged in charitable events; Customer Appreciation Day and Expo at Revenue Service Centres and main locations; Staff Appreciation and Vibes Day honouring staff; and the highlight of the staging of a Tax Forum. Tax Forum

The Forum brought together key stakeholders from the public and private sectors to discuss and evaluate TAJ's role in supporting economic growth and national development. The Forum also focused on how TAJ's enhanced services, tax compliance measures, and policy initiatives contribute to nation-building, revenue mobilization, and ease of doing business. Commissioner General, Ainsley Powell, gave an overview of some of the key milestones on the TAJ 10-year journey since November 2014, with a focus on digital transformation, service improvement and enhancing management and administrative efficiencies.
